Officially Licensed USMC Recruit Depot San Diego Patch — Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego Embroidered Patch
Where Marines are made — MCRD San Diego, making Marines since 1923.
Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego (MCRD San Diego) is the West Coast crucible where young men and women from the western two-thirds of the United States are transformed into United States Marines through 13 weeks of the most demanding basic training in the American military. Located between San Diego Bay and Interstate 5, adjacent to San Diego International Airport, MCRD San Diego has been forging Marines since 1923.
The depot's iconic parade deck serves as both a vital part of every recruit's training and a memorial to the veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the War on Terror. In addition to recruit training, MCRD San Diego is home to the Drill Instructor School for the Western Recruiting Region and the Recruiter School for the entire Marine Corps. In April 2021, MCRD San Diego made history when 53 female recruits became the first women to complete boot camp training at the San Diego depot. This embroidered patch represents the depot where generations of Marines first earned the title.
Perfect For: MCRD San Diego graduates across all eras, drill instructors, Marine Corps recruiters, boot camp veterans, Marine families, and anyone who earned the title at the San Diego depot.
