Marine Wing Support Group 17 (MWSG-17) provides the essential aviation ground support that Marine aircraft squadrons depend on to operate — expeditionary airfield construction and maintenance, aviation fuel and ordnance, air traffic control, weather services, communications, and base defense. Assigned to 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, MWSG-17 deploys alongside Marine aviation squadrons to establish and operate expeditionary airfields in austere environments where no infrastructure exists. Without MWSG Marines, the aircraft don't fly.
