MCAS New River's Expeditionary Firefighting and Rescue section provides crash fire rescue, structural firefighting, and emergency response for one of the Marine Corps' busiest rotary-wing and tiltrotor air stations. This embroidered patch represents the firefighters who stand ready on the flight line during every launch and recovery cycle, prepared to respond within seconds to aircraft emergencies. Expeditionary firefighters are also trained to deploy forward, providing the same firefighting capability at austere airfields and expeditionary bases where civilian fire departments don't exist.
