MALS-26, the Patriots, have been providing aviation logistics support to the squadrons of Marine Aircraft Group 26 since 1952 out of MCAS New River, North Carolina. As part of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, MALS-26 is the backbone that keeps every rotor turning and every airframe mission-capable. From deploying in support of Operation Sharp Edge in Liberia to keeping the entire MAG running during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, the Patriots have earned multiple Navy Unit Commendations and been named MALS of the Year for 2nd MAW four times.
