Officially Licensed USMC 1st FSSG Field Services Support Group Patch — The Original Combat Logistics
Because before there was a Marine Logistics Group, there was the FSSG — and they kept I MEF in the fight.
The 1st Force Service Support Group (1st FSSG) was the combat service support element of I Marine Expeditionary Force, responsible for providing logistics, maintenance, transportation, medical, dental, and engineering support to Marine forces across the I MEF area of operations. Based at Camp Pendleton, California, 1st FSSG was the logistics backbone that kept Marines supplied, equipped, and ready to fight through multiple conflicts including Operations Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. In 2006, 1st FSSG was redesignated as 1st Marine Logistics Group (1st MLG) as part of a Marine Corps-wide reorganization, but the FSSG legacy lives on in every logistics Marine who served under the original designation. This patch represents the Marines who made sure the beans, bullets, and bandages always got through.
Perfect For: 1st FSSG veterans from all eras, 1st MLG Marines who remember the redesignation, I MEF combat service support personnel, and any Marine who knows that logistics wins wars.
Before MLG, there was FSSG. Same mission. Same Marines.
