N95's portfolio encompasses the full spectrum of expeditionary warfare—from amphibious assault ships (LHA/LHD), amphibious transport docks (LPD), and dock landing ships (LSD) to the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC), Ship-to-Shore Connectors (SSC), Amphibious Combat Vehicles (ACV), and the Marines and sailors who operate them. The division works closely with the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC), the Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV), and joint force planners to ensure that amphibious readiness remains a national priority, advocating for the maintenance and procurement of the 31-ship amphibious fleet that the Marine Corps requires to execute its crisis response and forcible entry missions.
The N95 staff includes both Navy officers and Marine Corps officers, reflecting the inherently joint nature of amphibious operations that require seamless integration between naval and Marine forces.
