Officially Licensed HMM-261 Raging Bulls 80's tan/blue (green eyes) Patch - Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 261 (HMM-261) officially licensed USMC embroidered patch in the distinctive 1980s tan and blue colorway with green eyes insignia detail.
Raging Bulls identity, CH-46 Sea Knight era pride, and one of the most operationally decorated decades in Marine medium helicopter history captured in a single embroidered piece.
HMM-261 was commissioned in 1951 at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, and earned the Raging Bulls nickname during the 1970s while flying the CH-46 Sea Knight out of MCAS New River. The 1980s defined the squadron's combat reputation. In 1982 the Bulls deployed to Beirut, Lebanon, and in October 1983 were diverted from a second Beirut deployment to support Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada, where they provided the only helicopters for the initial Marine landings and flew several hundred American students to safety. The squadron then continued on to Beirut, conducting medevac missions and evacuating over 800 American and Lebanese citizens following the Marine Barracks bombing. From 1983 through 1990 the Raging Bulls continued regular Mediterranean deployments as part of Marine Amphibious and Expeditionary Units. This tan and blue colorway with green eyes is a period-specific variant tied directly to that CH-46 Sea Knight era, making it a distinct and historically grounded piece within the broader Raging Bulls insignia lineage. The squadron later transitioned to the MV-22 Osprey and was redesignated VMM-261, but the HMM-era patches remain the most sought-after by veterans and collectors who served during those high-tempo Cold War deployments.
Perfect for HMM-261 Raging Bulls veterans, CH-46 Sea Knight crew members and maintainers, Operation Urgent Fury and Beirut-era Marines, Marine medium helicopter collectors, MAG-26 and 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing alumni, shadow box builders, patch panel displays, squadron reunion gifts, and anyone preserving the story of Marine assault support aviation during one of its most operationally intense decades.
Raging Bulls, 1980s colorway, stitched for the crews who flew when it counted most.
