Save A Rhino Ride A Hawkeye Wild West WestPac 2024 Shoulder Patch — E-2D Advanced Hawkeye vs. F/A-18E/F Super Hornet "Save A Rhino Ride A Hawkeye" WestPac 2024 Embroidered Shoulder Patch

Save a Rhino, Ride a Hawkeye — the E-2 community fires back.

This morale patch from a 2024 Western Pacific deployment playfully jabs at the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet (nicknamed "Rhino") community with the tongue-in-cheek suggestion that Hawkeye crews provide a superior ride. The inter-community rivalry between E-2D Hawkeye and Super Hornet crews is one of the most entertaining traditions in carrier aviation, and this patch fires a shot from the Hawkeye side.

The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is the carrier air wing's airborne early warning and battle management platform, carrying the AN/APY-9 radar that provides the 360-degree situational awareness that guides every aircraft in the air wing. While Super Hornet pilots get the glory of air-to-air kills and precision strikes, Hawkeye crews quietly run the air battle from 25,000 feet, controlling fighters, managing airspace, and detecting threats long before anyone else sees them. The "Wild West" WestPac 2024 theme adds deployment-specific flair to this inter-community ribbing, marking a specific 7th Fleet cruise where the Hawkeye community proudly proclaimed their platform's superiority over the flashier Rhinos.

This patch is Hawkeye pride at its finest.

Perfect For: E-2D Advanced Hawkeye crews, WestPac 2024 deployment veterans, carrier air wing inter-community rivalry fans, and deployment morale patch collectors.

Save a Rhino — Ride a Hawkeye.
