Officially Licensed US Navy VP-40 Fighting Marlins 2023 Squadron Patch — Laging Handa, Always Ready

The Marlins don't just patrol the seas — they own them.

VP-40 "Fighting Marlins" is a Patrol Squadron flying the P-8A Poseidon out of NAS Whidbey Island, Washington. With the motto "Laging Handa" — Filipino for "Always Ready" — the Fighting Marlins carry on a proud legacy of maritime patrol and reconnaissance that stretches back to World War II. VP-40 operates the Boeing P-8A Poseidon, the Navy's premier multi-mission maritime aircraft, conducting anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, intelligence gathering, and search and rescue across the world's oceans. The P-8A replaced the venerable P-3C Orion, bringing advanced sensors, networking capability, and global reach to the maritime patrol community. The Fighting Marlins maintain a relentless deployment tempo, rotating through the Indo-Pacific, Middle East, and beyond to keep adversary submarines and surface threats in check. This 2023 squadron patch marks another year of the Marlins answering the call wherever the Navy needs eyes on the water.

Perfect For: VP-40 Fighting Marlins aircrew and maintainers, P-8A Poseidon community members, NAS Whidbey Island squadrons, maritime patrol and reconnaissance veterans, and anyone who knows that the ocean's secrets don't stay secret from a Poseidon.

VP-40 — Laging Handa, always hunting.
