Officially Licensed US Navy VA-146/VFA-146 Blue Diamonds Throwback Squadron Patch — Heritage Cut
Before the Super Hornet, before the Hornet, there was the A-4 and the thunder of carrier-launched attack aviation.
VA-146 "Blue Diamonds" was a U.S. Navy attack squadron that carved its name into carrier aviation history during the Vietnam War, flying the A-4 Skyhawk from the decks of carriers operating in the waters of Southeast Asia. The Blue Diamonds delivered close air support, interdiction strikes, and armed reconnaissance missions in some of the most dangerous skies in the world. The squadron's lineage eventually transitioned through multiple airframes and was redesignated VFA-146, continuing to serve with distinction aboard carriers out of NAS Lemoore flying the F/A-18C and later the F/A-18E Super Hornet. This throwback patch honors the VA-146 era — the original Blue Diamonds insignia from the golden age of light attack aviation, when pilots strapped into nimble Skyhawks and went downtown.
Perfect For: VA-146 and VFA-146 Blue Diamonds veterans and active duty, A-4 Skyhawk enthusiasts, Vietnam-era naval aviation collectors, NAS Lemoore squadrons, carrier aviation historians, and anyone who collects throwback squadron patches.
