Officially Licensed USMC VMGR-352 Raiders 2025 Command Patch — USMC Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron Embroidered Patch
Raiders — Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 352
If the Herc is overhead and the tanks are full, there's a good chance the Raiders made it happen. VMGR-352 has been fueling and hauling for the Marine Corps since before most squadrons existed.
VMGR-352 was formed as Marine Utility Squadron 352 (VMJ-352) on April 1, 1943, at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. The Raiders flew R4D Skytrains in World War II, supported the Berlin Airlift in 1948-49, and provided transport during the Korean War. Redesignated VMGR-352 in March 1961 with the arrival of the KC-130 Hercules, the squadron deployed to Vietnam from 1962 through 1972. The Raiders answered the call during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Desert Shield/Desert Storm (logging over 2,500 combat flight hours and 1,144 sorties), Operations Restore Hope in Somalia, and Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan — where the squadron lost seven crew members when Raider 04 crashed in Pakistan on January 9, 2002, including Sergeant Jeannette Winters, the first female service member killed in the War on Terror. Now flying the KC-130J Super Hercules from MCAS Miramar under MAG-11, 3rd MAW, the Raiders continue to be the only asset that supports every arm of the MAGTF.
Perfect For: VMGR-352 Raiders past and present, KC-130J Hercules crews and maintainers, MAG-11 and 3rd MAW personnel, Marine aerial refueling and transport community members, and USMC squadron patch collectors. A tribute to over 80 years of Raider service.
