Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 5 (HC-5) "Providers" was a U.S. Navy vertical replenishment (VERTREP) and combat support helicopter squadron based at NAS Agana, Guam. Operating CH-46 Sea Knights and later MH-60S Knighthawks, the Providers were the lifeline of the Pacific Fleet, delivering ammunition, supplies, mail, and personnel to ships at sea that couldn't pull into port. HC-5's area of operations stretched across the vast Western Pacific — from the Philippine Sea to the Indian Ocean — making them one of the most geographically dispersed helicopter squadrons in the Navy. The squadron later redesignated as HSC-25 "Island Knights" and continues the combat support mission from Guam today.
