NAS Dallas legacy — Navy Reserve aviation in North Texas, Carswell to Fort Worth, on a sticker.

"Det Dallas" carries the legacy of Navy Reserve aviation in North Texas — a heritage that runs from the original NAS Dallas at Hensley Field through to today's Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth. The original NAS Dallas operated at Hensley Field from World War II through the 1990s and was the home of generations of Navy and Marine Corps reserve pilots, NFOs, and aircrew. Under the BRAC realignment of the 1990s, NAS Dallas was decommissioned and Navy Reserve aviation in North Texas was relocated to Carswell Air Force Base — which closed in September 1993, became NAS Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth in October 1994 (the first joint reserve base in the United States), and consolidated Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Air National Guard, and Army Reserve aviation onto a single installation that today hosts the Fleet Logistics Support Wing, the 301st Fighter Wing, the 457th Fighter Squadron, Marine Aircraft Group 41 (MAG-41), the Texas ANG 136th Airlift Wing, and other units. Reserve squadrons with Texas roots include VR-59 "Lone Star Express" — Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 59 — established at NAS Dallas on October 1, 1982 and now flying the C-40A Clipper out of NAS JRB Fort Worth. "Det Dallas" is the sticker for every North Texas Navy Reserve aviator. Outdoor-grade vinyl.

Perfect For: Navy Reserve aviation veterans of NAS Dallas / Hensley Field, NAS JRB Fort Worth Sailors and Marines, VR-59 Lone Star Express crew, Fleet Logistics Support Wing personnel, MAG-41 Reserve Marines, North Texas military aviation historians, and Texas Navy Reserve community sticker collectors.

Det Dallas — NAS Dallas to NAS JRB Fort Worth, Navy Reserve forever.
