US Navy Commander Naval Air Force Reserve Leather Patch
Commander, Naval Air Force Reserve (CNAFR)
The Commander, Naval Air Force Reserve (CNAFR) is the naval aviation component of the United States Navy Reserve, headquartered at Naval Air Station North Island, California. CNAFR exercises command over three aircraft wings — the Fleet Logistics Support Wing, the Tactical Support Wing, and the Maritime Support Wing — as well as the Navy Air Logistics Office and Naval Air Facility Washington. The organization controls multiple unique assets, including the U.S. Navy's entire intra-theater airlift capability within the Fleet Logistics Support Wing and all Navy adversary training units subordinate to the Tactical Support Wing.
CNAFR's reserve squadrons operate a diverse fleet including C-40A Clippers for worldwide logistics, F-5 Tiger IIs and F/A-18 Hornets for adversary training, EA-18G Growlers for electronic attack, P-8A Poseidons for maritime patrol, and MH-60S Seahawks for combat support. These units are staffed by a mix of active-duty Training and Administration of the Reserve (TAR) sailors and Selected Reserve (SELRES) personnel who maintain the same high standards of readiness as their active-duty counterparts.
CNAFR's mission is to maintain the Naval Air Force Reserve in a state of readiness to meet the Fleet Response Plan, providing trained and ready personnel and squadrons to augment active naval aviation forces during wartime, national emergency, or when otherwise directed.
Perfect For: CNAFR staff and veterans, Navy Reserve aviators, Fleet Logistics Support Wing personnel, Tactical Support Wing aircrew, adversary squadron pilots, and naval aviation reserve collectors.
Celebrating the command that ensures Navy Reserve aviation stands ready to deliver combat capability anytime, anywhere the fleet requires.
