Officially Licensed USMC Marine Air Control Group MACG-18 Coin — USMC Aviation Command and Control Challenge Coin

Marine Air Control Group 18 was activated on September 1, 1967, in Da Nang, Vietnam, with its subordinate units already deep in combat operations throughout I Corps. MACG-18's component squadrons included HAWK missile batteries, air control squadrons, and air traffic control detachments that provided the air defense and airspace management backbone for Marine aviation in Vietnam. The group earned four Presidential Unit Citations, three Navy Unit Commendations, and a Meritorious Unit Commendation for its Vietnam service. Today, MACG-18 is based at MCAS Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, providing command, control, communications, air traffic control, and short-range air defense for 1st Marine Aircraft Wing and III Marine Expeditionary Force across the Indo-Pacific theater.
