Officially Licensed HX-21 Black Jack Patch — Testing Tomorrow's Aircraft at Pax River

The Black Jacks of HX-21 test every rotary-wing and tiltrotor aircraft before the fleet ever gets to fly them.

Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 21 (HX-21), the Black Jacks, operates from Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, conducting developmental test and evaluation of rotary-wing aircraft, tiltrotor aircraft, and unmanned aerial systems. HX-21 is where new helicopters and UAS platforms are put through their paces — testing flight envelopes, weapons systems, sensors, and mission equipment before they are approved for fleet use. The Black Jacks' test pilots and engineers push aircraft to their limits, ensuring that the platforms delivered to operational squadrons are safe, capable, and combat-ready.

Perfect For: HX-21 Black Jacks test pilots and engineers, NAS Pax River personnel, developmental test and evaluation professionals, UAS testers, and Navy test squadron patch collectors.
