Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (H&HS) at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina, is the command and support element that keeps one of the Marine Corps' busiest rotary-wing and tiltrotor bases running. MCAS New River is home to the bulk of the East Coast's MV-22 Osprey, CH-53E Super Stallion, AH-1Z Viper, and UH-1Y Venom squadrons under the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing and II Marine Expeditionary Force. H&HS provides the essential base operations, security, communications, supply, and administrative support that allow these combat squadrons to train, deploy, and fight. Without H&HS, the flightline goes dark, the chow hall closes, and nobody gets paid. This patch represents the Marines who keep the gears turning behind the scenes at New River — the unsung heroes who make Marine aviation possible.
