Officially Licensed 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance LAR Echo Company Empire Patch — The Empire Strikes From Reserve
Weekend warriors? These Marines rolled LAVs into Baghdad.
4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion is a Marine Corps Reserve unit — and the largest combat battalion in the entire Marine Corps, with seven companies spread across the country from Camp Pendleton to Syracuse, New York. Echo Company, nicknamed "Empire" for its New York roots, is part of this nationwide force that operates the LAV-25, an 8-wheeled armored reconnaissance vehicle built for speed, firepower, and finding the enemy before the enemy finds you. 4th LAR was activated in September 1987, and when the call came for Desert Storm, the battalion deployed to Saudi Arabia where its assets were spread across hundreds of miles of desert, probing Iraqi positions, breaching berms and minefields, and capturing prisoners. In 2003, Alpha and Bravo companies rolled into Iraq with 1st and 3rd LAR Battalions during the initial invasion, and the reconstituted battalion formed the core of Task Force Scorpion in Northern Babil province. Echo Company "Empire" carries the tradition of reserve Marines who train for the weekend and deploy for the war.
Perfect For: 4th LAR Echo Company Marines past and present, reserve LAR veterans, LAV-25 crews and scouts, 4th Marine Division reservists, and anyone who knows that "part-time" Marines fight full-time wars.
Empire Company — the Empire State's contribution to the tip of the spear.
