Officially Licensed 1st Battalion 25th Marine Regiment Patches — New England's Own Since the 1920s
Reservists by paycheck. Marines by choice. Combat-proven by record.
1st Battalion, 25th Marines — known as "New England's Own" — is a reserve infantry battalion spread across New England and upstate New York with roughly 850 Marines and Sailors under the 4th Marine Division. The unit traces its roots to the early 1920s, when the 301st Company was established in Boston. During the Depression, Congress cut all drill pay, and the Marines who stayed did so without a paycheck — new members even had to buy their own uniforms. That kind of grit defined the battalion. In Desert Storm, 1/25 deployed to Southwest Asia and participated in the 1st Marine Division's initial breach of Iraqi defenses. They returned to combat in Iraq's Al Anbar Province and later deployed to Okinawa and throughout the Pacific. The battalion has won the General Harry Schmidt Trophy for most combat-ready battalion in the 4th Marine Division three times — a record no other battalion in the division has matched.
Perfect For: 1/25 Marines and families, 4th MarDiv reservists, Devens and New England drill center veterans, and anyone who knows the reserves don't play part-time.
