**Official VX-20 Force PVC Shoulder Patch — Air Test and Evaluation Squadron PVC Patch**
VX-20 Force — the squadron that tests every cutting-edge aircraft system before the fleet ever sees it. If it flies for the Navy and it's new, VX-20 broke it in first.
VX-20, Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Twenty (AIRTEVRON TWO ZERO), is a United States Navy air test and evaluation squadron based at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland. Tracing its roots to the establishment of the Naval Air Test Center in 1945, VX-20 was formally organized in April 1975 as the Antisubmarine Aircraft Test Directorate. Renamed the Force Warfare Aircraft Test Directorate in 1986 and redesignated as VX-20 in May 2002, the squadron operates over 27 aircraft across 12 types — including the P-8A Poseidon, E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, KC-130J Hercules, MQ-4C Triton, and C-130 Hercules. Now a combined USN/USMC organization, VX-20 conducts full-spectrum developmental testing and evaluation for maritime patrol, airborne early warning, aerial refueling, and logistics aircraft.
