Training Squadron 27 (VT-27), the "Boomers," is one of the United States Navy's primary flight training squadrons, based at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas, under Training Air Wing Four. Established on July 11, 1951, as Advanced Training Unit-B, VT-27 has been shaping Naval Aviators for over seven decades. The Boomers fly the T-6B Texan II and average more than 11,000 training missions and 70 sorties per training day, producing Navy and Marine Corps pilots of the highest quality. The squadron's safety record sets the standard for excellence across the Chief of Naval Air Training command. This detachment patch commemorates VT-27's 2026 training deployment to Roswell, New Mexico — bringing Boomer precision to the high desert.
