Patrol Squadron One (VP-1) "Screaming Eagles" is one of the United States Navy's most decorated maritime patrol squadrons, based at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington. This 2024-2025 deployment patch commemorates the Screaming Eagles' latest operational deployment with the P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft, continuing the squadron's tradition of excellence that has earned them the title "Fleet's Finest."
VP-1 operates the Boeing P-8A Poseidon, the Navy's most advanced maritime patrol aircraft. Built on a modified 737 airframe, the P-8A carries state-of-the-art sensors, weapons systems, and networking capabilities that enable VP-1 to conduct anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, intelligence gathering, and search and rescue missions across vast stretches of ocean.
