Official VMT-6 2025 Patch — Marine Tiltrotor Training Squadron 6 Embroidered Patch
VMT-6 Shooters 2025 — the schoolhouse that builds every Marine Osprey pilot.
Marine Tiltrotor Training Squadron 6 (VMT-6), the "Shooters," is the Marine Corps' fleet replacement squadron for the MV-22B Osprey, based at NAS Whiting Field, Florida. VMT-6 trains every Marine pilot and crew chief who will fly the Osprey before they report to fleet tiltrotor squadrons. This 2025 edition patch marks the squadron's identity in the current year, representing the latest class of Osprey aviators to earn their tiltrotor wings through VMT-6's rigorous training program.
As the sole MV-22 training squadron, VMT-6 is the gateway through which every Marine Osprey pilot must pass. The Shooters' instructor pilots are among the most experienced tiltrotor aviators in the world, teaching students the unique demands of flying an aircraft that transitions between helicopter and airplane flight modes. From basic tiltrotor maneuvers to tactical formation flying, instrument procedures, and simulated combat scenarios, VMT-6 produces combat-ready Osprey crews who will deploy to every corner of the globe. The 2025 patch commemorates the instructors and students who passed through the schoolhouse during this training year.
