Official VMM-364 Purple Fox Tail Flash Patch - Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 364 (VMM-364) Purple Foxes officially licensed tail flash embroidered patch, representing the distinctive purple tail markings that gave the squadron its legendary name.

Purple Foxes identity, stitched into the tail flash that has marked their aircraft from Vietnam rice paddies to MV-22B Osprey flight lines at Camp Pendleton.

VMM-364 traces its lineage to 1 September 1961, when it was commissioned at Marine Corps Air Facility Santa Ana, California, as part of Marine Aircraft Group 36. The squadron earned the Purple Foxes name during the Vietnam War, adopting it from a cartoon fox mascot called Swifty whose image was painted in purple on the unit's aircraft tails, a tradition that made the squadron one of the most visually recognizable in Marine Corps aviation history. During three combat tours in Vietnam, the squadron's crews flew nearly 70,000 hours in combat and combat support missions and earned the Presidential Unit Citation for meritorious conduct. After a period of deactivation and reactivation in 1984, the Purple Foxes served in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom before completing their transition to the MV-22B Osprey on 9 October 2014, when the unit was officially redesignated VMM-364. Today the squadron operates under Marine Aircraft Group 39 and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing at MCAS Camp Pendleton, continuing the assault support mission that has defined the Purple Foxes across more than six decades. The tail flash format captures the exact marking that connects every era of the squadron's history in one compact, embroidered collectible.

Perfect For: VMM-364 veterans and Purple Foxes alumni, MV-22B Osprey crew members and maintainers, CH-46 Sea Knight Phrog veterans, Marine aviation historians, MAG-39 and 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing collectors, Vietnam War aviation enthusiasts, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Desert Storm commemorators, shadow box builders, patch panel displays, flight jacket collections, reunion gifts, and anyone preserving the story of one of the Marine Corps' most decorated and recognizable medium-lift squadrons across its full history from UH-34 Seahorse to tiltrotor Osprey operations.

Purple Foxes heritage, carried from the tail of every aircraft they ever flew.
