Official VMM-362 "Ugly Ace" (REIN) Patch — Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 362 "Ugly Angels" (Reinforced) MV-22B Osprey Aviation Combat Element Patch

The Ugly Angels reborn for the MEU ACE — VMM-362 (REIN), MV-22B Ospreys to the deck.

Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 362 (VMM-362), the "Ugly Angels," is a USMC MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor squadron based at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, under MAG-16 and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. The squadron was originally established as Marine Helicopter Transport Squadron 362 (HMR-362) on April 20, 1952 at MCAS Santa Ana, California, initially equipped with Sikorsky HRS helicopters, and earned a permanent place in Marine Corps history as the first Marine aircraft unit deployed to South Vietnam — arriving on April 15, 1962 with UH-34 helicopters in support of Operation Shufly. Across more than six decades of service the squadron was redesignated Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 362 in 1962 and Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 362 (HMH-362) in 1969 with its transition to the CH-53 Sea Stallion, and saw combat in the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm (1991), Operation Uphold Democracy (Haiti, 1994), Operation Iraqi Freedom (2007), and Operation Enduring Freedom (with final combat missions in early 2012) before being deactivated on November 30, 2012 at Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kaneohe Bay. The Ugly Angels were reactivated as a Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron at MCAS Miramar on August 17, 2018 to operate the MV-22B Osprey, and were declared fully operational capable on February 28, 2020. When deployed (Reinforced) as the Aviation Combat Element of a Marine Expeditionary Unit, VMM-362 carries detachments from across MAG-16 — CH-53E heavy lift, AH-1Z Viper / UH-1Y Venom light attack and utility, KC-130J refueling, and F-35B Lightning II — into the I MEF deployment cycle.

Perfect For: VMM-362 Ugly Angels active-duty and veteran Marines, MV-22B Osprey pilots and maintainers, MCAS Miramar residents, MAG-16 and 3rd MAW Marines, HMR-362 / HMH-362 CH-53 Sea Stallion and UH-34 Vietnam-era heritage veterans, Operation Shufly historians, Marine Expeditionary Unit Aviation Combat Element personnel, and I MEF amphibious ready group sailors and Marines.

Ugly Angels (REIN) — Marine ACE since 1952.

Size is shown on the product page and updates with the variant you select (example: 3"). If you’re mounting on a hat or small panel, choose smaller sizes; for plate carriers and display boards, larger sizes fit better.
