Official VMM-268 Red Dragons "Remove Before Flight" key ring set.
Red Dragons RBF — the iconic flight-line streamer in keychain format.
Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 268 (VMM-268), the "Red Dragons," is a USMC MV-22B Osprey assault support squadron based at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe Bay, operating under Marine Aircraft Group 24 (MAG-24) and the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. The squadron's lineage runs from HML-268 (activated September 15, 1972 at MCAS New River) and HMM-268 (activated March 1, 1979 at MCAS Tustin with CH-46 Sea Knights) to its redesignation as VMM-268 on April 10, 2014 with the MV-22B Osprey transition. In April 2017 the Red Dragons made history with the first trans-Pacific flight by MV-22B Ospreys — 6,000 miles from Hawaii to Australia in about 21 hours — and the squadron rotates as the reinforced Aviation Combat Element for Marine Rotational Force Darwin (MRF-D). The "Remove Before Flight" (RBF) streamer is the iconic red flight-line tag attached to engine inlet covers, pitot tube covers, gust locks, and ordnance safety pins to ensure they're removed before the bird flies — a piece of aviation safety culture that's become a fleet-wide morale gear staple. This key ring set takes the Red Dragons RBF design and turns it into a heavy-metal, woven-strap keychain — built for truck keys, helmet bag carabiners, range bags, and tactical lanyards. Mahalo from Kaneohe.
Perfect For: VMM-268 Red Dragons active-duty and veteran personnel, MV-22B Osprey pilots, aircrew, and maintainers, MCBH Kaneohe Bay and 1st MAW personnel, MAG-24 Marines, plane captains and Flightline Qual maintenance Marines, MRF-Darwin rotation veterans, and aviation "Remove Before Flight" keychain collectors.
