Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 266 (VMM-266), the Fighting Griffins, operates the MV-22B Osprey out of Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina, as part of Marine Aircraft Group 26 (MAG-26) and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. The squadron's legacy stretches back decades through its earlier designations as a CH-46 Sea Knight squadron, and it has deployed in support of Marine Expeditionary Units and combat operations around the world. The transition from the CH-46 to the revolutionary MV-22 Osprey marked a new chapter for the Fighting Griffins, giving them unprecedented speed, range, and versatility in assault support operations. This legacy patch honors the squadron's proud history and continuing service.
