VMM-265, the Dragons, is a Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron flying the MV-22B Osprey out of MCAS Okinawa as part of the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. Det 18 — the Land Sharks — represents one of the squadron's forward-deployed detachments operating across the Indo-Pacific, bringing Osprey versatility to exercises, operations, and contingencies throughout the theater. The Land Sharks name captures the amphibious reality of tiltrotor operations: equally dangerous whether you're coming from the sea or already on the ground. This PVC patch brings the det's unique identity to life in durable, waterproof style that's built to survive the same conditions the Land Sharks operate in.
