**VMM-261 Raging Bulls Alien PVC Patch — USMC Tiltrotor Squadron Morale PVC Patch**

VMM-261 Raging Bulls — from providing the only helicopters for the initial landings in Grenada to inserting Marines into Afghan strongholds in Ospreys, the Bulls have been charging into the fight since 1951. This alien-themed morale patch proves even extraterrestrials know not to mess with the Raging Bulls.

Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 261 (VMM-261), the "Raging Bulls," was commissioned on 5 April 1951 at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina — the third-oldest helicopter squadron in the Marine Corps. The Bulls earned their nickname during the 1970s and cemented their reputation during three combat tours in Vietnam, where HMM-261 flew 11,859 combat hours, MEDEVACed 2,315 wounded, executed 38,090 combat sorties, and ferried 47,522 troops into battle. In 1982 the squadron deployed to Beirut, and in October 1983 diverted to Grenada for Operation Urgent Fury, providing the only helicopters for the initial Marine landings and subsequent joint operations. Based at MCAS New River under MAG-26, the Raging Bulls transitioned to MV-22 Ospreys as the fourth Marine squadron to receive the tiltrotor, and have deployed to Afghanistan, Africa, and the Horn of Africa in support of expeditionary operations worldwide.
