Official VMGR-153 Sunset Flightline Shoulder Patches — Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 153 KC-130J Super Hercules MCAS Kaneohe Bay Hawaii Embroidered Patch Set

Sunset over the Kaneohe flightline — VMGR-153, KC-130Js, Marine Littoral Regiment lift in the Pacific.

Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 153 (VMGR-153) is a US Marine Corps KC-130J Super Hercules squadron based at Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, under Marine Aircraft Group 24 (MAG-24) and the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. The squadron was originally commissioned as Marine Utility Squadron 153 (VMJ-153) on March 1, 1942, and served extensively during World War II under MAG-25 and the South Pacific Combat Air Transport Command (SCAT) — delivering approximately 15 million pounds of supplies, evacuating over 20,000 casualties, and moving 8,000 personnel throughout the Pacific Theater. The modern squadron was formally activated on January 13, 2023 at MCAS Kaneohe Bay after two KC-130J aircraft (BuNos 170272 and 170273) arrived from VMGR-352 on December 6, 2022, with plans to grow to a total of 17 aircraft by 2026. VMGR-153's activation was a direct outcome of the 2022 Marine Aviation Plan and General David H. Berger's Force Design 2030 concept — bringing organic, forward-based fixed-wing and rotary-wing aerial refueling capability and assault air transport of personnel, equipment, and supplies to the new Marine Littoral Regiment construct in the Indo-Pacific theater. From routine MCAS Kaneohe Bay flightline operations to FARP detachments across Pacific island chains, VMGR-153 is the 1st MAW's organic lift capability. This sunset flightline patch set captures the unit's Hawaii signature.

Perfect For: VMGR-153 active-duty and veteran Marines, KC-130J Super Hercules pilots, naval flight officers, loadmasters, and maintainers, MCAS Kaneohe Bay residents and Oahu Hawaii Marine Corps community, MAG-24 and 1st Marine Aircraft Wing personnel, Marine Littoral Regiment (MLR) supporters, Force Design 2030 advocates, and KC-130 / VMJ-153 SCAT WWII heritage enthusiasts.

VMGR-153 — sunsets on the Kaneohe Bay flightline.
