VMA-214 Blacksheep Plane Captain — Embroidered Patch

Blacksheep Plane Captain — Keeper of the Harrier

The Plane Captain is the last Marine to touch the aircraft before the pilot takes it into the sky. For VMA-214, the Blacksheep, that means being responsible for one of the most demanding airframes in Marine aviation — the AV-8B Harrier. This patch represents the crew chiefs who own the jet.

The Plane Captain in Marine aviation is the enlisted Marine personally responsible for the pre-flight inspection, servicing, and launch of an assigned aircraft. For VMA-214, the legendary Blacksheep squadron that traces its lineage to Pappy Boyington and the corsairs of World War II, the Plane Captain is the guardian of the AV-8B Harrier II. These Marines conduct walk-around inspections, check fluid levels, verify flight control movements, and ensure every system is operational before giving the pilot the thumbs up.

Perfect For:
VMA-214 Blacksheep crew chiefs and plane captains, AV-8B Harrier maintenance Marines, MAG-13 enlisted aviation community, and aircraft maintenance heritage collectors.

Blacksheep Plane Captain — Own the Jet.
