This embroidered patch represents the Troubleshooter section of Strike Fighter Squadron 151 (VFA-151), the Vigilantes. Troubleshooters are the maintenance experts who respond to aircraft discrepancies on the flight line and flight deck, diagnosing and fixing problems quickly to keep jets on the flight schedule. When a VFA-151 Super Hornet has a maintenance issue before launch, the troubleshooters are the first ones under the aircraft, isolating the problem and getting the jet back in the fight. They're the maintenance emergency responders of naval aviation.
