Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 121 (VAW-121) "Bluetails" is a United States Navy E-2 Hawkeye squadron based at Naval Air Station Norfolk, Virginia, assigned to Carrier Air Wing Seven (CVW-7). This special morale patch carries one of the most powerful messages in the military: "Take Care of Bluetails" — a reminder that in this squadron, you look out for your own, on and off the flight deck.
VAW-121 operates the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, providing airborne early warning, battle management, and command and control capabilities to the carrier strike group. Deployed aboard USS George H.W. Bush and other carriers, the Bluetails are the eyes of the fleet, detecting and tracking threats across vast stretches of ocean and airspace.
