Official VAQ-137 Rooks 50th Anniversary Patch — Half a Century of Electromagnetic Dominance
Because for fifty years, the Rooks have been making enemy radar operators very, very nervous.
VAQ-137, the Rooks, is an Electronic Attack Squadron based at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington, now flying the EA-18G Growler. Commissioned on December 14, 1973, the Rooks have been at the forefront of electronic warfare for five decades — from providing critical electronic surveillance during the evacuation of Saigon in 1975, to firing 30 HARM missiles during 212 combat sorties in Desert Storm, to being the first Prowler squadron deployed with night vision goggles during Operation Enduring Freedom. They've won the Admiral Arthur W. Radford Award for highest achievement in electronic warfare multiple times, and their transition to the Growler ensures the Rooks will continue owning the electromagnetic spectrum for decades to come. This 50th anniversary patch marks a golden milestone.
Perfect For: VAQ-137 Rooks veterans across all eras, EA-18G Growler enthusiasts, electronic warfare community members, and anyone who appreciates a squadron that's been winning the invisible war for fifty years.
Fifty years of jamming. Fifty years of dominance. Long live the Rooks.
