The Marine Air Navigation School trains Marine Corps aviators and aircrew in the fundamentals and advanced techniques of aerial navigation. While modern aircraft carry sophisticated GPS and inertial navigation systems, the ability to navigate using dead reckoning, celestial observation, and map reading remains a critical skill set — especially when electronic systems are degraded by enemy jamming or equipment failure.
