US Navy Carrier Airborne Early Warning Weapons School Leather Patch
Carrier Airborne Early Warning Weapons School (CAEWWS)
The Carrier Airborne Early Warning Weapons School is the premier training institution for E-2 Hawkeye airborne early warning and command-and-control tactics within the United States Navy. Operating under the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC) at NAS Fallon, Nevada, CAEWWS develops and standardizes advanced tactics, techniques, and procedures for the E-2C Hawkeye and E-2D Advanced Hawkeye communities. The school produces Hawkeye Weapons and Tactics Instructors (HEWTIs) — the most highly trained tactical experts in the airborne early warning community.
CAEWWS graduates serve as subject matter experts in their squadrons, responsible for training aircrews in advanced mission sets including theater air and missile defense, strike coordination and reconnaissance, surface surveillance coordination, and over-water search and rescue management. The school's curriculum covers the full spectrum of carrier airborne early warning operations, from the TOPDOME air defense mission to the SEAHUNTER surface warfare mission, producing tacticians who can integrate seamlessly with carrier air wing operations and joint force command structures.
The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, with its AN/APY-9 radar system and Cooperative Engagement Capability, represents the cutting edge of airborne battle management, and CAEWWS ensures that the Navy's finest Hawkeye crews are prepared to employ these capabilities to their fullest potential in support of carrier strike group operations.
Perfect For: CAEWWS graduates and instructors, E-2C and E-2D Hawkeye crews, NAWDC personnel, carrier airborne early warning squadron members, and naval aviation tactical training collectors.
Honoring the institution that forges the Navy's most elite Hawkeye tacticians, whose eyes in the sky provide the critical command and control that enables naval air power.
