The IAMC WTI patch signifies that the wearer has completed one of the most demanding tactical instructor courses in Naval Aviation, earning the right to serve as a Warfare Tactics Instructor in the integrated air and missile defense discipline. WTIs are the tactical thought leaders of the fleet, responsible for training strike group staffs and squadron personnel in the complex art of defending against simultaneous cruise missile, ballistic missile, and air threats. Operating within the Fleet Readiness Training Center (FRTC) at Fallon, NAWDC's IAMC division ensures that the Navy's air defense warriors are prepared to counter the most sophisticated threats posed by near-peer adversaries.
