Station Fuels — the MCAS Beaufort Fuels Branch — is the bulk fuel and aviation fuel storage, transfer, and dispensing organization responsible for receiving, testing, storing, and issuing every gallon of JP-5 / JP-8 / Jet-A consumed on the air station, supporting all flight operations for the resident F-35B Lightning II and F/A-18 Hornet squadrons of MAG-31. Day in and day out, Station Fuels personnel handle bulk receipts from rail and tanker truck deliveries, conduct laboratory quality control on every issue, operate the hot-pit refueling pads on the flight line, manage the underground bulk storage tank farm, and ensure that every aircraft taxiing for takeoff has clean fuel and accurate metering documentation. From routine local training sorties to deployment surge tempos, hurricane-evacuation aircraft transient operations, and joint exercises with Navy and partner-nation strike-fighter visitors, Station Fuels is the unseen logistics function that makes the entire flight line work.
