Redesignated as MALS-12 in 1988, the squadron deploys from MCAS Iwakuni, Japan, providing aviation logistics expertise and material support to MAG-12 and 1st Marine Aircraft Wing across the entire Pacific Command area of responsibility. From F-35B Lightning IIs to F/A-18 Hornets and KC-130J Super Hercules, MALS-12 keeps them all mission-ready — earning MALS of the Year and the Secretary of Defense Award for Maintenance Excellence along the way.
