HT-18 TH-73 Thrasher — Embroidered Patch
Vigilant Eagles — TH-73A Thrasher Era
The Vigilant Eagles of HT-18 are transitioning to the TH-73A Thrasher — the next generation of helicopter training for the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. This patch marks the dawn of a new era in rotary wing flight training at NAS Whiting Field.
Helicopter Training Squadron 18 (HT-18), the Vigilant Eagles, has trained military helicopter pilots at NAS Whiting Field since 1972. Established to meet the growing demand for helicopter-trained aviators, the squadron has produced thousands of Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and allied nation pilots. The transition from the venerable TH-57 Sea Ranger to the Leonardo TH-73A Thrasher represents the most significant upgrade in helicopter training capability in decades, with a more powerful, modern platform that better prepares students for fleet aircraft.
Perfect For:
HT-18 Vigilant Eagles veterans and active duty instructors, TH-73A Thrasher student pilots, NAS Whiting Field community, and helicopter training heritage collectors.
