Official HMLA-469 Vengeance Japan Det Patch — Justice Delivered, Pacific Theater Edition
Because Vengeance doesn't stop at the California coast — it follows you across the Pacific.
HMLA-469, callsign "Vengeance," was a Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron operating the AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom out of MCAS Camp Pendleton under MAG-39 and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. Commissioned on June 30, 2009, the squadron was born from the nation's resolve after September 11th, with its name and insignia directly inspired by the call for justice in the aftermath of the attacks. Vengeance deployed with Marine Expeditionary Units and to Afghanistan, including defending Camp Bastion during its 2012 attack. This Japan Det patch commemorates the squadron's forward-deployed operations in the Pacific — bringing Cobra firepower and Huey versatility to exercises and operations across the Indo-Pacific theater before the squadron's deactivation in December 2022.
Perfect For: HMLA-469 veterans, Vengeance Japan Det participants, 3rd MAW skid kids, and anyone who served with a squadron literally named for payback.
Vengeance may be deactivated, but the legacy never stands down.
