**Officially Licensed US Navy VF-101 Grim Reapers Sticker — Fighter Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VF-101 Grim Reapers — the squadron that trained every East Coast Tomcat crew and wrote the book on fleet fighter tactics. If you flew an F-14 out of Oceana, you answered to the Reaper first.
VF-101, the "Grim Reapers," traces its lineage to VF-10, established in 1942, which flew F4F Wildcats off USS Enterprise during the Battle of Guadalcanal. VF-101 was commissioned on 1 May 1952 at NAS Cecil Field, Florida, inheriting the Grim Reapers' nickname and traditions. The squadron flew the FG-1D Corsair in the Korean War before transitioning to jets, including the F2H Banshee and F4D Skyray. In 1958, VF-101 became a Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS), training all Atlantic Fleet fighter crews. Starting in 1976, VF-101 served as the East Coast F-14 Tomcat training squadron at NAS Oceana, operating over 40 Tomcats in A, B, and D variants. After VF-124 was disestablished in 1994, VF-101 became the sole F-14 FRS. The Grim Reapers were deactivated in 2005 with the retirement of the F-14.
