Official VMFA-314 Black Knights Plane Captain Shoulder Patch — USMC Marine Fighter Attack Squadron Maintenance Embroidered Patch

The plane captain — the Marine who owns the jet from preflight to shutdown. No plane captain, no sortie.

Plane captains are the enlisted Marines responsible for the day-to-day care, servicing, and preparation of individual aircraft. In VMFA-314 "Black Knights," plane captains are the first Marines to touch the F-35C Lightning II each morning and the last to secure it at night. They conduct preflights, launch and recover aircraft, perform turnaround inspections, and ensure every system is ready for the pilot. The plane captain position is one of the most demanding and respected roles on the flightline — a young Marine given personal responsibility for a $100+ million aircraft.

Perfect For:
VMFA-314 Black Knights plane captains and maintainers, F-35C Lightning II ground crew, Marine aviation maintenance personnel, and USMC flightline specialty patch collectors.

Black Knights. Plane captains. Own the jet.
