HSM-74 Swamp Foxes Safety Fox Patch — Because Safe Foxes Fly Home
Safety brief: don't be the reason the whole squadron has to sit through another safety brief.
HSM-74 "Swamp Foxes" is a U.S. Navy Helicopter Maritime Strike squadron based at NAS Jacksonville, Florida, attached to Carrier Air Wing Three. Originally established as HSL-44, the squadron was redesignated HSM-74 on June 9, 2011, reflecting their transition from the SH-60B to the MH-60R Seahawk multi-mission helicopter. The Swamp Foxes operate twelve MH-60R helicopters across four combat elements — a carrier element and three detachments — capable of operating independently aboard cruisers, destroyers, and aircraft carriers. Their mission set covers anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, electronic warfare, search and rescue, and MEDEVAC. In October 2023, HSM-74 deployed aboard USS Eisenhower with CVW-3 and immediately conducted defensive and offensive combat operations against Houthi-Iranian military units in Yemen. This Safety Fox patch is a reminder that even the most aggressive foxes in the swamp still need to make it home in one piece.
Perfect For: HSM-74 Swamp Foxes aircrew and maintainers, CVW-3 personnel, MH-60R Romeo crews, safety officers who actually want people to wear the patch, and anyone who knows that foxholes and flight decks both demand attention to detail.
