This embroidered patch commemorates Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464 (HMH-464), the Condors, and their 2023 MEU deployment detachment. HMH-464 deployed CH-53E Super Stallion heavy-lift helicopters as part of a Marine Expeditionary Unit, providing the MEU commander with heavy-lift capability from amphibious ship flight decks. The Condors' CH-53E detachment carried vehicles, artillery, supplies, and Marines that other helicopters simply couldn't, making them essential to the MEU's combat power projection ashore.
