The Armed Forces Network in Taiwan provided radio and television broadcasting services to American military personnel stationed on the island, delivering news, entertainment, and a taste of home to service members serving in one of the most geopolitically sensitive postings in the world. AFN stations have operated wherever American forces are deployed, and the Taiwan station represented the American presence on the island during a critical period of Cold War history. This patch commemorates the broadcasters who kept the troops informed and entertained.
