This PVC patch represents the night Functional Check Flight (FCF) community — the pilots who fly aircraft that have just undergone major maintenance on nighttime test flights to verify everything works before returning the aircraft to the flight schedule. Night FCFs are flown in darkness, adding an extra layer of challenge to an already demanding test flight profile. "We Only Come Out at Night" captures the nocturnal nature of these pilots, who take aircraft that maintenance has worked on all day and verify them under the stars. It's a specialized, unglamorous, but critical mission.
