Korean War Medal Patch — Embroidered Patch
The Forgotten War Remembered
Korea was called "The Forgotten War," but the men who fought there never forgot. This Korean War Medal patch honors the service members who fought from 1950 to 1953 in some of the most brutal conditions any American force has ever endured — from the desperate defense of the Pusan Perimeter to the frozen hell of the Chosin Reservoir.
The Korean War began on June 25, 1950, when North Korean forces invaded South Korea, and ended with an armistice on July 27, 1953. More than 36,000 Americans were killed and over 103,000 were wounded in a conflict that often took a back seat to the memory of World War II and the growing shadow of Vietnam. Marines played a critical role throughout the war, with the 1st Marine Division fighting at Inchon, Seoul, and the Chosin Reservoir, where they conducted one of the most legendary fighting withdrawals in military history. The Korean War established the Cold War pattern of limited warfare that would define American military engagement for decades to come.
Perfect For:
Korean War veterans and families, Chosin Reservoir survivors, 1st Marine Division veterans, military medal collectors, forgotten war advocates, and military history enthusiasts
Not forgotten. Not by us. Not ever.
