Marine Aviation Warfare Training Unit Pacific (MAWTU-PAC) is a specialized Marine Corps training organization that provides advanced aviation warfare training and tactical development support to Marine aviation units operating in the Pacific theater. MAWTU-PAC serves a role similar to Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) in providing advanced tactical training, but with a focus on the unique operational requirements and training environments of the Western Pacific region.
The unit supports the development of aviation warfare proficiency across the full spectrum of Marine Corps fixed-wing, tiltrotor, and rotary-wing operations, working with squadrons from 1st Marine Aircraft Wing and supporting units deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific. MAWTU-PAC's instructors and tactical advisors bring extensive fleet experience to their mission of raising the tactical proficiency of Marine aviation units, conducting training exercises, providing tactical mentorship, and supporting the integration of new tactics, techniques, and procedures into squadron training programs.
MAWTU-PAC's presence in the Pacific reflects the Marine Corps' commitment to maintaining the highest levels of aviation combat readiness in the theater that has become the priority focus of American military strategy under Force Design 2030.
