This MALS-26 ordnance patch represents the Marines who handle the most dangerous job in aviation logistics — building, maintaining, and loading the weapons that give Marine aircraft their lethal punch. Every bomb, missile, rocket, and round that leaves a MAG-26 aircraft passed through the hands of a Patriots ordnance Marine.
MALS-26's ordnance department provides Class V(a) ammunition logistics support to all MAG-26 squadrons at MCAS New River. This encompasses the requisitioning, storage, handling, assembly, transportation, and inventory reporting of aviation ordnance. The ordnance Marines of the Patriots are responsible for ensuring that every weapon system is properly assembled, tested, and loaded onto aircraft in accordance with strict safety protocols. Their expertise covers everything from Hellfire missiles and TOW rounds for AH-1Z Vipers to defensive countermeasures for MV-22 Ospreys and door gun ammunition for UH-1Y Venoms.
